As Loudspring we have been working on a wider article over the past month which indicated our position on the status of the global economy, along with how we fit in. While the full article is still under development, given the events of the past 72 hours we have decided to release the first section of the article today. US Director Loudspring
As announced previously Enersize Oy (”Enersize”), of which Cleantech Invest Oyj (”Cleantech Invest”) holds 42.7%, has been investigating a listing of Enersize on Nasdaq Stockholm First North. Sedermera Fondkommission has now been selected to handle this process. The timing of the listing is estimated to be during 2017.
On 30 November 2016, the exercise period for Cleantech Invest Series TO 1 subscription warrants ended. 664,848 Series TO 1 subscription warrants were exercised, resulting in an overall exercise rate of approximately 51,5 % . Via the subscription warrants, Cleantech Invest will thus receive SEK 4,3 million before transaction costs.

The recent Slush event in Helsinki gathered a record attendance of 15000 participants. From around one thousand startups applying, one hundred got the opportunity to pitch at the Slush 100 competition. It is not our habit to report the outcomes of these types of events as news but out of these companies, Plugsurfing stayed on through the eliminating rounds and ended up among the top four as Caremonkey from Australia was woted best pitching company.
Thomas Bengtsson the Vice Chairman of the board of directors of Cleantech Invest Plc has acquired 428 144 Cleantech Invest A-shares from Incap Oyj. The acquired shares represent over 2% of Cleantech Invest Oyj outstanding shares. After this share purchase Thomas Bengtsson will be the company's 9th largest shareholder with 2.5% ownership.

New strategic investors from China, Silicon Valley and Sweden have invested into Cleantech Invest. The investment is done as a directed emission of 1 170 000 new series A shares, resulting in the new shareholders getting 6% of Cleantech Invest. The valuation is set at the current share price of Cleantech Invest (7 days weighted trading average prior to closing on 31st of August 2015) and was approved by the board within the share issue mandate given by this year’s Annual General Meeting.
Lahti Energia Oy and Pori Energia Oy have entered into an agreement with One1, a portfolio company of Cleantech Invest, over cooperation in distributed energy sales in Finland and around the Baltic Sea region. As a part of the cooperation the utilities will finance One1’s business development and also upcoming energy projects.
Cleantech Invest Plc has made a follow-on investment in Enersize Oy, as well as converted previous loans into equity. With these actions Cleantech Invest's effective fully diluted ownership increases to 44%. Other investors in the investment round include family offices.
Cleantech Invest Plc has acquired a stake of 10% in Eagle Filters Oy from previous shareholders.
Eagle Filters improves the efficiency and capacity of gas fired power plants with a new type of air filtering solution. The company’s solution is in use in multiple locations in Europe and Asia, and annual savings of several million euros per gas turbine have been achieved and verified at customer sites.
Cleantech Invest Swap SPV 1 AB, a Swedish holding company founded by Cleantech Invest Plc, has made an equity investment of EUR 4.2 million into Swap.com (Netcycler Oy). Cleantech Invest owns 20% of the holding company and the effective fully diluted ownership of Cleantech Invest Plc in Swap.com increases from 5.6% to 8.0% after the investment, and in addition Cleantech Invest will receive a fee in total of EUR 220,000. Cleantech Invest Plc and its affiliated companies own a total of 22.9% of Swap.com after the transaction.
The Annual General Meeting of Cleantech Invest Plc was held on 20 April 2015 in Helsinki. A total of 34 shareholders, 3,210,300 series A shares, 4,734,891 series K shares and 97,908,120 votes were represented in the meeting.

Cleantech Invest Plc’s portfolio company Savo-Solar Ltd. has today published the result of its initial public offering. The offering was subscribed by 100% and the company receives approximately EUR 4.1 million in issue proceeds before costs. Cleantech Invest Oyj’s board of directors has decided to include CEO Alexander Lidgren into the company’s 2013 option program in order to incentivize him and in order to increase his commitment to the company.
Cleantech Invest Plc has made an investment in PlugSurfing GmbH, taking a stake of 3.45%. Other participants in the investment round include PlugSurfing’s advisor Dr Gregor Matthies, as well as a US-based incubator and venture fund. PlugSurfing will use the investment for international expansion.

Cleantech Invest Plc is investing in Swedish company Watty. The investment is part of a bigger funding round where Watty has secured 10 million SEK to take their solution to the market. The other actors in the funding round are Swedish business angels and the Swedish Energy Agency. After the investment round, Cleantech Invest’s holding in Watty is just under 1%. The investment gives Cleantech Invest a foothold in the emerging arena of home energy management.
Alexander ”Bigge” Lidgren has been appointed Managing Director of Cleantech Invest as from 16 January 2015. Lidgren has an entrepreneurial background having started and managed several growth companies. His latest venture, Cleantech Scandinavia, became the leading investor network in the Nordics and grew profitably for five consecutive years. Lidgren brings to Cleantech Invest a unique network of European investor, industrial and start-up connections and complements the current networks well. He is also 12-time national Swedish judo champion and holds M.Sc. in Environmental Management and Policy and BA in Business and Marketing.
